Schaafsma Design is a design/build firm that specializes in custom landscapes for both public and private clients. With 25 years of construction experience in the American Southwest, Schaafsma Design understands the relationship between the needs of the client and the importance of sustainable design principles. Our emphasis is to implement water conservation techniques, Xeriscape plants and locally available materials in creative landscaping solutions.
Our projects include urban plazas, institutional gardens, public parks and commercial and residential designs. We personally guide our projects from start to finish, 
working closely with local artisans and construction professionals to create award-winning landscapes.
New Awards
Schaafsma Design recently won two awards from the Flagstaff Chapter of the Arizona Native Plant Society for innovative landscapes: First Prize (Professional Category) for a local residential project, and Second Prize for the Flagstaff Xeriscape Garden.
